Course Description

*Must be 21 years old or older to attend this course This course is a combination of the Concealed Carry Permit Certification course and the Basic Handgun course. It is designed to take you from having little to no knowledge of handguns to a basic proficiency, while also satisfying the law and safety knowledge required to obtain your concealed carry permit. This course provides a basic introduction to handguns of all types and calibers. We discuss the principles of safety and the laws surrounding handling, carrying, and storing firearms and ammunition as well as how to clean and maintain them properly. This course includes a basic understanding of the mechanics and laws for carrying a concealed weapon and some considerations when doing so. We will also cover how to efficiently operate a handgun and the basic fundamentals of shooting. This course is ideal for people who have little to no knowledge or experience with handguns and are seeking to obtain a basic proficiency and legally carry their handgun concealed with a concealed carry permit. People who are seeking their concealed carry permit and have experience with handguns but want to improve their abilities by confirming the basics will also benefit from this course. This course includes both knowledge based instruction and live fire proficiency training with your handgun. *This course satisfies requirements to obtain your concealed carry permit in the state of Colorado Students will be required to supply: - Their own handgun - 100 rounds of ammunition in their handgun caliber (Full metal jacket, “range” ammo) - At least 2 magazines for their handgun - The concealed carry holster of your preference for your handgun (if applicable) - Eye protection - Ear protection
