Course Description

This course provides a basic introduction to tactical style rifles. For purposes of this course, “tactical rifle” is defined as a shoulder fired weapon with a rifles or grooved barrel designed for professional use and primarily for home defense and personal protection. We discuss the principles of safety for handling tactical rifles and how to clean and maintain them. This course also covers how to efficiently operate a tactical rifle and the basic fundamentals of shooting. This course is ideal for people who have little to no knowledge or experience with tactical rifles and are seeking to obtain a basic proficiency. People who have experience with tactical rifles but want to improve their abilities by confirming the basics will also benefit from this course. This course includes both knowledge based instruction and live fire proficiency training with your rifle. *This course does not satisfy Colorado state law requirements to obtain your concealed handgun permit. Students will be required to bring to class: - Their own “tactical” style rifle - 100 rounds of ammunition in their rifle caliber (“range” ammo) - At least 2 magazines for their handgun - Eye protection - Ear protection - Any accessories needed for their rifle
